The Project Manager's Nightmare (Part 1)

Part 1: The Dream

Pipoy Mola is an aspiring project manager in a prestigious telecommunications company. Throughout his career he assisted managers and users in developing small programs that would hasten business processes in his department. He awed his officemates by his exemplary skills in programming in macros, visual basic and the simple but useful tool called Excel. Many times his colleagues asked him to teach them!

But all the while he wanted to do more than just those "small" things. He wants to accomplish "bigger" challenges. He starting off handling enhancements from one existing system to another. After that, he felt sure he wanted to implement projects, particularly systems, that would better support the needs of his colleagues, and even impact subscribers. He wants to be a real Project Manager!

He usually daydreams being given an award of excellence citing his unusual talent of implementing projects at the right time, within budget, according to scope and the best quality of work. Then one day, he finally got his opportunity! There was a gap in the group that needs to be addressed and he's the best man to do it! He placed a generous smile on his face but little did he know what nightmares he would face...

Light Grenades

Light grenades! Incubus' 6th album! This 13-track album was released late last year. For me, it's one of their usual cool music blend of Brandon's ever-elegant vocals and Michael's catchy guitar riffs. I particarly like "Dig", "Love Hurts", "Earth to Bella" (parts 1 & 2), "Oil and Water" and loads of other upbeat rock songs. I listen to this album on the way to work to get myself hyped for the day =). Wow, rock really still has a bigger part of my music soul!

When asked about the album title, Brandon explained:
"There's a song called that on the record and it felt like the most pertinent conceptual aspect of the album, the idea of throwing ideas at problems and the ideas explode with light and good results and intention on consciousness. So I started imagining imagery of students in different countries protesting and throwing Molotov cocktails with masks over their faces. But there's one brave student who runs up to the police line and, as opposed to throwing rocks or things that destroy, there's this concept of that one courageous, lonely student running up and throwing ideas and having them actually change things. It just seemed kind of a cool concept: the redefining of weaponry." (Source: Wikipedia)

For all Incubus fans out there do check out their latest album!

"DIG"
We all have a weakness
But some of ours are easier to identify
Look me in the eye and ask for forgiveness
We'll make a pact to never speak that word again
Yes, you are my friend
We all have something that digs at us
At least we dig each other
So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday
If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone
We all have a sickness
That cleverly attaches and multiplies
No matter how hard we try
We all have someone that digs at us
At least we dig each other
So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine
If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone
Oh each other....
When everything else is gone.
