Newton Faulkner - I Need Something
I got this mp3 from an officemate. The moment I heard its intro, I just knew that I'm gonna love this song. Great voice and great riffs, lots of pull-offs and hammer-ons! But damn, he's one ugly bugger... hehe. Play link to youTube video.

it has been a while
It has been a while since I've posted some sense in my blog. Somehow I have not had any reason to post any though a lot of things have changed and even things are changing right now. First of which is my transfer to a new role:
It's not a promotion. One of the managers asked me if I was interested to transfer to her department. "Hell ye!," I thought. It's just a lateral transfer from my currently business-sided role to a more technical role. There are perks of course! First is, hopefully, my salary will be aligned (in due time). Second, I will be exposed to something new and something that really is, well, techie. But of course I also have my personal reasons, of which I really don't want to post here because of, again, personal reasons.
So anyway, the reason I'm writing now is that I'm just reminiscing on all the shit that I've been through in my current department. Dugo't pawis. Sweat and blood. And one of those memorable events was when I was making an application from scratch for 3 freaking months. I was the PM, developer, tester, rollout manager and trainer all at the same time. It was hell! Me and my idea caused me months of decent sleep... and all that to save the company 1 million pesos instead of paying it to a vendor. 'Tangina talaga! But at the end of it all, getting to see other people use your application and knowing it serves its purpose, was worth the effort...
Almost two years later, it's time to say good-bye. It was time for an upgrade! Right now, I'm rolling out the web version of the application, which I also PM-ed. One of the things I have to do is modify the old application and add forms to post important announcements, like the existence of a new web version... and why it's better... and why the old app must be retired...
... and having to open that old source code stored idly, untouched and unnoticed for more than a year and here I am modifying its contents for its inevitable demise... is just so sad!!! This was my baby! It's going to die!!!
Boohoo... okay stop it... pero putangina naman! Kahit man lang 10% ng nung 1-M na naka-budget sa project binigay nyo sakin! Punyemas!
Hehe, of course everyone knows my company can't do that. Just airing it out again para lang sa wala.
Peace.
...So! On to the Second change of many in my life... 'til next time na lang... :D

So Blue & Tonight, Tonight
There I was taking a break from work. My head really hurt so I had to do something else besides documenting my freakin' project...
I glanced around my desktop and found my iPod. Hmmm... it has been a while since I've updated the Album Art of my recently downloaded songs (yes, yes yes. I admint I'm one of those iPod-freaks who wants all songs to have the album art and title). So song after song I downloaded album covers from the internet except for this one -- Sinosikat?'s So Blue. I heard their self-titled album was launched recently so I'd expect I won't find any of its covers yet in the net.
I got frustrated. I couldn't find any its album cover at all until I got to this page Feed Detail. And in it was an embedded YouTube link about some YouTube user playing a piano-only cover of Smashing Pumpkins' Tonight, Tonight. This guy's cool, man! Yep, you were right, whoever-posted-that-entry! It did sent chills to my spine! Putang-ina, ang galing!!!
